BBQ Catering for Belfast Weddings: The Complete Guide
Everything you need to know about hiring a BBQ trailer for your Belfast or Northern Ireland wedding — menus, numbers, weather and when to book.
A wedding BBQ is one of the most relaxed, memorable ways to feed your guests — and across Belfast and Northern Ireland it's becoming one of the most requested catering styles we do. Here's everything you need to know about hiring a BBQ trailer for your big day.
Why a BBQ works so well for weddings
Sit-down meals are lovely, but they're formal, slow and expensive. A live-fire BBQ trailer brings a completely different energy: the smell of the grill, food cooked fresh in front of guests, and a buffet-style serve that gets people up, mingling and going back for seconds.
It also suits almost any venue — barns, marquees, family gardens or dedicated event spaces. As long as we can park the trailer and set up safely, we can cook.
How much food do you actually need?
For a wedding we'd typically recommend our BBQ Package 2 as a starting point — more mains to choose from, plenty of sides, salads and homemade sauces. Most couples cater for their full guest count for the main meal, then add an evening option for later arrivals.
A few things worth planning for:
- Dietary requirements — vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free and halal options are all available. Just give us numbers when you book.
- Timings — we arrive and set up well before service so nothing is rushed.
- Weather — our trailer is fully covered and we cook in all conditions. If your guests don't have a covered area, a small marquee is worth considering.
When to book
Summer Saturdays book up fast. To lock in your date we take a deposit, with the balance due the week of your wedding. If you're planning a Belfast wedding for next season, it's worth getting in touch early.
